John Franklin Turmes

John F. Turmes, 77, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021 after a long and courageously fought battle with cancer. He was a loving and much loved husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was born in Monahans, Texas to Nicolas A. and Margaret Turmes. He spent most of his life in the Fort Worth area. John was an Eagle Scout and an accomplished musician and artist. Many of his paintings decorate his home.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 13 at the chapel of Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst, Texas with a visitation from 6 to 8 on Monday, July 12. John was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Eric Turmes. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gloria Turmes, his son, Victor Turmes (Wanda) of Fannett, Texas, his brother, Nick Turmes, Jr. (Susie) of Plantation, Florida and Grandchildren, Brittany Turmes, Nicole Dailey (Hunter), Paige Baucom (Chance), Brooke Turmes, Devin Turmes, Ty Turmes and Lexie Teague (Tyler) and 6 great grandchildren.
