John was born in the Bronx, New York. In 1960 he married the love of his life Loretta (known by most as Mitzi). Together they had four children, Andrea, John, Sebastian, and Thomas.
John had a great passion for music and was an accomplished accordion and electric organ player, but his favorite activity was bowling. He participated in league games up until weeks before his passing, giving encouragement and advice to fellow bowlers and exhibiting the enthusiasm and support that are essential in team sports. He was also a regular gym goer at his local rec center getting in his workouts every week.
John was loved by many and his enthusiasm for life and innocent charm was felt by all who knew him.
John is survived by his four children Andrea, married to Kevin, John, married to Grisselle, Sebastian, married to Loreen and Thomas; four grandchildren, Sebastian, Jonathan, Daisy and Spencer; two siblings, sister Clara and brother Sebastiano. He was especially fond of the family dogs, Gracie and Boomer and his long-time pet parrot Pepe. He is preceded in death by his wife, Loretta “Mitzi” Virga in 2006.
John impacted many people in his life and while he may be gone, he will never be forgotten.
