John "Jack" Watters

John “Jack” Watters passed away peacefully Friday, June 10, 2022 surrounded by family. He was born in Chicago, IL November 27, 1929 as a twin and was preceded in death by his wife Mary, daughters Jean Frost and Kathleen Gathings, his parents, and his 6 siblings. He was a husband for 61 years, a father to 7 children, grandfather of 21, great-grandfather of 26, and great-great grandfather of 2. As a member of the US Marine Corps Reserve he deployed to Korea on active duty in 1951 with VMA-121. He was a private pilot for over 40 years, an avid golfer, and loved being with his family. He was an accomplished businessman in airline catering - beginning as a dishwasher with Sky Chefs and rising to a Senior Vice-President with Dobbs House and O’Hare Flight Kitchens. He then moved to owning and selling multiple successful business enterprises. All will miss his love, humor, and counsel. He will be interned at the DFW National Cemetery at a future date.
