John Robert Wright

October 31, 1935 — January 4, 2018

Mr. John Robert Wright of Trophy Club joyfully entered the gates of heaven on January 4, 2018 in Grapevine, Texas. He was 82 years of age.

Celebration of Life Service: The Family will greet guests at 10:00 before the 10:30 am service on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Lucas Funeral Home in Grapevine. Graveside Service: 1:00 pm Thursday, January 11, 2018 in the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. An escorted procession to the cemetery will follow the Celebration Service.

John was born on October 31, 1935 in Waynesville, North Carolina to Benjamin and Ethel Wright. He was the oldest of seven siblings including his brothers Harry, Willard, Dallas, Ben, and Joe, and his sister, Mary.

John proudly served his country in the United States Army for 3 years. He later earned his MBA at the University of Alabama. Through the years, John worked for Hayes International IBM and the Christian Broadcasting Network. He also had his pilot's license.

John loved to spend time with his immediate and extended family. He served as a deacon at all the churches he attended. John loved the outdoors, traveling, and flying. He has lived in North Carolina, New Mexico, Florida, Alabama, California, and Texas. John never met a stranger, and he would encourage every one he met.

John married his college sweetheart, June Vivian, in 1961 in Tampa Florida. They have two daughters, Julie Serviss and husband, Mark and Jennifer Corradino and husband, Tom; two sons, John Robert Wright Jr. and wife, Melissa and Jeremy Wright and wife, Shawna; and ten beautiful and talented grandchildren: Matthew Serviss wife, Melania, Justin Serviss, Lindsey Corradino, Megan Corradino Pressnell and husband, Nathan, Lauren Corradino, Elise Wright, John Robert Wright III, Emerson Wright, Drake Wright, and Clementine Wright.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, June; his 4 children; and 10 grandchildren; his brothers, Dallas and wife, Margret, and Ben and wife, Martha; his sister, Mary; as well as his brothers-in-law, Tony and Rodney Vivian; and many nieces, nephews, and their families all who he treasured.
