Friday, June 30, 2023 is a day we will always remember. It is the day Johnnie Suzette Aubin, 66, took her last breath on this earth. Known as Suzy, she was loving, strong, gracious, and funny. She was loved by many and will be missed by many more.
Suzy shared a more than special bond with her husband of 46 years, Dean Aubin, Sr., who faithfully loved her in good times and in bad and through sickness and health. He led the charge on her long battle with cancer, never leaving her side, and holding her in his arms at home until the last moment she felt his touch.
Family was everything to Suzy. Her children - Dr. Dean Aubin, Jr. (Kimia) and Judith Aubin Miller - were loved, nurtured, and cherished. Her "truly exceptional" grandchildren were jewels in her life's treasure box and delighted her time and again: Maddox Miller, Ava Miller, Damien Aubin, and Lillian Aubin.
Suzy's circle of love was expanded by meaningful relationships with sisters and brothers, both on her own side of the family as well as on the side of her husband. As nieces and nephews were added to the family, Suzy's circle of love grew even more and she was frequently regarded as the favorite aunt.
Suzy converted to Catholicism when she married, and she raised her children accordingly. She taught Catechism classes and took very seriously her commitment to her faith.
Outside the home front, Suzy's expertise was experienced by many during her career as a respiratory therapist. Her memorable and compassionate bedside manner was a difference maker in the lives of her patients.
Suzy's spare time interests included quilting, gardening, and beekeeping. She was an avid reader, enjoyed the beauty of art, and was generous with her talents, often giving handmade creations to others.
With enduring love and deepest respect, we borrow words crafted by Cleo Wade to summarize our wife, mother, nanny, sister, aunt, and friend: "She was a little all over the place; that was for sure. But the good news is that when she loved, she loved big. And if she loved you, you knew she loved you. You never had to wonder." Thank you, Suzy-Mom-Nanny, for loving us so good and so long.
