BURLESON -- Johnny Edward Hughes was born a Texan on September 19, 1949, and died a Texan on Wednesday, August 3, 2016.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Lucas and Blessing Funeral Home in Burleson. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
Johnny was a meat cutter, auto technician and always a musician. He enjoyed playing his guitars, hunting and his dog, Bud.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Sue Hughes; daughter, Hannah Welton; and brother-in-law, J.R. Schumacher.
Survivors: Johnny is survived by his wife of 34 years, Mauna Kea; children, Krista Bailey and husband, Kevin, Belinda Bowens and husband, Devonta, Sarah Meals and husband, Brad; son-in-law, Jason Welton and wife, Kristan; grandchildren, Benny, Hunter, Noah, Chad, Taylor, Braxton, Cameron, Chloe, Samuel, Makenzie, Brody, Haley, Jacob, Emily, Isaiah, Savannah, Graycie, Cooper, Zachary and Zayne; father, Edward Hughes; siblings, Bea Schumacher, Tommy Hughes and wife, Peggy; a host of nieces and nephews; and his Oklahoma family, musical family, and friends.
