Jonathan “Jon” Todd Robilliard

October 9, 1979 — August 22, 2020

Jonathan, age 40, transitioned peacefully at home in Fort Worth, Texas on Saturday, August 22, 2020. He was surrounded by his wife, Melissa, and long-time friend Jim Nixon.
Jonathan was born in San Antonio, Texas to Guy M. and Maryjane (McFarland) Robilliard and was younger brother to Rebecca (Robilliard) Gattis. His family moved to Wyoming when Jonathan was young, but returned to Midland, Texas when he was in the 3rd grade. After several years in Midland, Jonathan and his family moved to Euless, Texas where he met his best friends and wife. He attended Trinity High School before transferring to Colleyville Heritage High School at which time he completed his GED. While at Trinity High School and Colleyville Heritage High School, Jonathan was part of the marching and symphonic band. He even won an award his junior year at Colleyville Heritage, “A Panther in Trojan Clothing.” Jonathan had many passions ranging from medical to IT to cars, but each passion was fueled by his desire to help people. He first followed his passion of the medical field and completed training at Carter Blood Care where he was a phlebotomist for many years. Jonathan reflected fondly at his time with Carter Blood Care because of the people he worked with and the people he was able to meet. When he started a story with “When I was doing a blood drive with Carter,” you knew you were about to laugh. After his time at Carter Blood Care, he made the decision to pursue another passion and enrolled to attend ATI where he obtained his certification as an Automotive Technician. He started working in the automotive industry at Driver’s Edge, NTB, America’s Automotive, and Don Davis Auto Group. He always had a funny story to share about his antics with co-workers. Although he left the automotive industry, cars were still a big part of his life and he joined MOPAR and other car enthusiast groups. Jonathan decided it was time to move on to another passion and recently returned to school where he was studying to enter the IT workforce. This interest in IT work was preceded by his love of video games. In his youth, video games were his escape and way to connect with best friends. Although he loved video games from new to retro, you would most likely see him playing something from Batman Arkham series. He also enjoyed comic books and sci-fi movies. On July 28, 2012 Jonathan married his long-time love Melissa Stoddard in the Fort Worth Japanese Gardens where his paternal grandparents, Dik and “V” Swanberg, were docents for many years. Their wedding was witnessed by immediate family. Those that remember Jonathan tell stories of his karaoke singing, quick wit, infectious smile, vast knowledge of random trivia, and was a jack of all trades. He was always willing to help anyone be it stranger or friend. His wonderful heart and outgoing nature are what made him personable and loved by many.
Jonathan was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Lavinia Carol (Ward) Swanberg, his paternal step-grandfather Richard A. “Dik” Swanberg, his paternal grandfather Don Robilliard, his paternal uncle Donald Ward Robilliard, and his maternal grandfather William McFarland. He is survived by his wife of 8 years, Melissa (Stoddard) Robilliard, his parents Guy and Maryjane (McFarland) Robilliard, sister and brother-in-law Rebecca (Robilliard) Gattis and Josh Gattis, nephews Nathaniel and Logan Gattis, and furbabies Juliette and Max. Jonathan’s ashes will be buried at a later date with a graveside memorial, followed by a celebration of life gathering.
