Joretta Groft

Joretta Faye Groft (née Hess), aged 93, passed away on July 18, 2024, in Southlake, Texas. Born to Walter Martin Hess and Elizabeth Lutz Zook Hess on March 14, 1931, in Warwick Township, Pennsylvania, she devoted much of her life to serving others through her role as Secretary and Treasurer for the International Christian Women's Aglow Association.

Joretta was renowned for her generous spirit and dedication to her faith, embodying the true essence of a servant of Christ. Her loyalty and care extended deeply into her personal life as a loving spouse, mother, and grandmother. Known for her sense of humor, Joretta's positive and uplifting nature brought joy to those around her.

She leaves behind her husband of seventy-three years, Harold E. Groft; her sons and daughters-in-law, Randy & Jan Groft, Lititz, PA and Jeffrey & Hannah Groft, Euless, Texas; as well as five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss her dearly.

Joretta's educational journey began in Warwick Township and concluded at Lititz High School, paving the way for her lifelong commitment to community and service.

A Celebration of Life for Joretta will be announced at a later date. Her legacy of kindness and dedication to her family and community will be cherished and remembered by those who knew her. In lieu of flowers, for those so inclined, please offer a prayer of gratitude and peace for her husband, Harold, who took such loving care of her throughout her illness.
