Joseph Ashkar, resident of Burleson, TX, formerly of Waco, TX, passed away on January 12, 2024 at the age of 85 years. He was a loving husband, father and cherished friend as well as a strong leader in the church.
Joseph was born in Lebanon on September 2, 1938. He was the pastor of a Baptist church in Rahbeh, Lebanon. After this, he moved with his wife and 3 children to Waco, TX where he pursued a PHD in Religion and worked for the McLennan County Appraisal District. He had a generous spirit and warm heart, which made him loved and admired by friends and family alike. While in Waco, TX Joseph loved to attend Columbus Ave. Baptist church.
He showed wisdom and dedication through his leadership in the church, and left an impression through his work. His unwavering faith and family values will be an inspiration to those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Though he lived a long and full life, he will be greatly missed.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 62 years Caroline Ashkar, children Najah Ferrell, Ragida Aboukhair, and Moana Bell, grandchildren Diana Rex, Hannah O'Connor, Sarah Aboukhair, Rachel Aboukhair, Michael Aboukhair, John David Aboukhair, Kathryn Bell, Sydney Bell and Nicole Bell.
