Joseph Raymond Bangert, Sr., age 92, beloved husband of the late Eva (Karger), passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 1, 2022, in Bedford, Texas. Joe was born on June 25, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio. Joe was a proud U.S. Army Veteran, having served in Korea.
Joe was a dear father to Joseph, Jr. (Robyn), Shirley Schochet (William) and Ann Marie Harp (Micheal-deceased), Grandfather "Papa" of 9 and Great Grandfather of 11. Joe is also survived by his dear sister, Mary Ellen Grealis (Mickey-deceased) of Ohio and many nieces and nephews.
Joseph worked hard his entire life, even embracing a job transfer to Texas in 1980. In his spare time, Joe loved to golf and proudly displayed his hole-in-one trophy.
After Joe retired from his corporate job, he became a Golf Marshall at Ditto golf course in Arlington, Texas. Whether or not the sun was shining, Joe loved the golf course.
Joe was devoted to St. Michael Catholic Church volunteering years as usher for the early Sunday morning mass, Men's Club activities, Feast Day and Leisure Group. He was also part of the Knights of Columbus and would often be at the KofC hall helping in some way or another. Joe also volunteered on the Board of the Bedford Senior Center and helped with many activities.
Joe also loved to sing and dance and his feet were always moving to the beat of the music.
Joe was preceded in death by the love of his life, Eva, his parents, Edmond and Mary Josephine (Dempsey) and brothers, Edmund (Jeanne) and John (Nancy) all of Ohio.
