Joseph W. Dillingham

July 9, 1938 — September 27, 2024

Joseph Warren Dillingham passed away September 27th, 2024. Joseph, better known as Dad or Uncle Joe will be going home to Hardin County, Kentucky for services and burial. Joe was known for his innovative ideas, which led to numerous accolades and recognitions through his many careers. To list a few: Air Force, car sales, technical writing, T.V repairman, earned a Masters Degree in Vocational Computer Engineering, and a professor at Tarrant County College. He retired as a software engineer/analyst and inventor.Joe loved music, ballroom dancing, fishing, hunting, photography, writing poetry, wine, and had a flirtatious humor with the ladies. While attending college, with his wife and children in tow, Joe coached a little league baseball team in rural East Texas. Joe's hard demeanor softened and he often provided shoes for the team. You see a few kid's showed up barefoot. This selfless act of generosity touched the lives of many, and left a lasting impact on the community. Joe is preceded in death by his parents William Harold Dillingham and Attie Pearl Hart Dillingham, brothers - Roger Miller, Edwin Miller, Oliver Dillingham, Walter Charles Dillingham, Doug Dillingham - sisters Grace Christina Hanson, Rosemary Smallwood. He is survived by his children and their spouses Bret Dillingham and wife Cindy, Charysse Dillingham and wife Ro, and sister Iris Roewe and her husband Lawrence Roewe and multitude of nieces and nephews (too many to name).

Often times, through illnesses, his will was strong, his body was weak and I would tell him, "I love you." Dad would raise his hand, as if giving a toast, smiling, saying, "Spread the love." Joseph Warren Dillingham, Dad, Uncle Joe will live on in the hearts and minds of his loving family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Healthcare of Texas, 6100 Western Place, Suite 105, Fort Worth, Texas 76107.

It takes a village. Bret and Cindy would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Linda and Gayle (Joe's niece's) for their unwavering dedication of care.
