Joseph “Joe” Scott Martin, 43 of Burleson, passed away suddenly in his home Monday September 27, 2021.
Joe was born in Dallas Texas to Timothy Martin and Karen (Slider) Martin on Juneteenth 1978. On May 22, 2004, he married the love of his life and poker lover, Misty Dawn Batch. On February 1, 2006, Andrew Timothy Martin came as beautiful blessing to their family.
Joe’s hobbies and interests were coaching Andrew in little league baseball, dad jokes, golf, poker, fantasy football, and talking smack, because “you don’t even go here!” And if you ever want to know why…”the government “ and because Ingrid said.
Some of Joes favorite movies and shows were Friends (he even got ordained to be a minister and married several people, just like Joey on Friends), Mean Girls, A League of Their Own, Rock of Ages (dance party included) and Money Ball…insert Joe’s cue to Misty…because he gets on base.
His dislike of lettuce was strong. He said it tasted like dirt, and don’t even try to just pick it off….he would know! But some Jack in the Box tacos at 2 am back in the day really hit the spot! And his roommates pizza rolls :) Andrew loved when he made his delicious eggs and pancakes for breakfast! Along with many of his employees who also enjoyed his deliciously cooked meals. Joe was a restaurant general manager for over 20 years and mentored and helped out many co-workers.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, Timothy Martin.
Joe is survived by his wife, Misty; son, Andrew; mother, Karen (Slider) Martin; sister, Sarah Taylor; and brother, Jonathon Martin. He was loved and will be missed by his family, friends, and co-workers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
