Joseph William “Joe” Moore, a retired engineer, passed away February 23 in Richland Hills. Visitation: Sunday, 2-4 p.m.; Lucas Funeral Home, Hurst; Funeral: Monday, 11:00 a.m., Richland Hills Baptist Church with burial to follow at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
Mr. Moore was born in Helena, AR on January 12, 1925 to Dewey and Helen Moore. He moved to Ft. Worth in January 1950 where he was employed by General Dynamics as an engineer. He retired from GD in mid 1988 as a Senior Project Engineer responsible for weapons integration. Mr. Moore was active in the Boy Scouts as a youth and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II with his last assignment in the Naval Air Transport Service. He was an active member of Richland Hills Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School Director, Deacon and Church Financial Director. Joe loved the Lord, his devoted wife of 71 years, Edna and his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors: Daughters Carol A. Bringhurst of Richland Hills and Mary Jane Stricklin (David) of Arlington; sister Helen Barnett of Ft. Worth; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
