It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph John Nicotra of Colleyville, Texas, announce his passing on October 10, 2024, at the age of 79.

Joseph was born on December 11, 1944, to the late Joseph Frank Nicotra and Billie Frances Nicotra (nee Garrett) in Brooklyn, New York.

He grew up on Long Island and graduated from East Meadow High School, enlisted in the United States Air Force and married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Lillian (nee Stoll). Pursuing a career in avionics, he had an extensive career with American Airlines, beginning at JFK and retiring many years later in Dallas.

Joe enjoyed playing golf, traveling in his RV, cooking and working on his computer, creating book, movie and TV show anthologies for his family and friends.

 A loving husband of the late Marilyn, devoted father of Joseph Vincent (Rosalind nee Hughes) and Gina Marie. Caring grandfather of Joseph Ross, Danielle Renẽ and Michael Scott. Joseph was cherished by his late siblings Jerry Lee Anthony, Victoria Brumfield (nee Nicotra), Richard Allen and Frank Duane. He leaves behind his sister April Helene Orsuto (nee Nicotra), many cousins and countless friends and colleagues who will miss him dearly.

He will be loved and remembered always.

Visitation: Wednesday, October 16, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst, Graveside with Military Honors will be Thursday, October 17 2024, at 10:00 am. in the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, in Dallas Texas.  Please line up in Lane #1 at the cemetery
