Joshua Blake Mckamie

July 16, 1981 — December 17, 2023

Joshua Blake McKamie (Blake) went to be with the Lord on December 17th, 2023 at the age of 42. He was surrounded by his wife and children, his parents and brothers, and many wonderful friends.

Blake Mckamie was born on July 16th, 1981 to Gary and Paula McKamie. He was born on his Paw Paw’s birthday. This cemented a special bond between them that lasted their whole lives.
Blake’s love of music began at an early age. He became an accomplished pianist and sang in many choirs, both in school and in church. Blake lit up any room he was in and was always the comic relief wherever he went.

The Lord saw fit to save Blake at an early age. As he grew in his wisdom and knowledge of the Lord, he served his local church in a multitude of ways, as both a children's Sunday School teacher and deacon.

While serving at North Euless Baptist Church, Blake met the love of his life, Kate, and they married on October 1st, 2005. They loved each other dearly and she would help mold him into the man he would become. One thing he loved most was being a dad. He has three amazing children, Addie, Annabelle, and Jude. He loved them fiercely and was always finding ways to make them laugh by being silly, but above all, he loved pointing them to the Lord.

When North Euless Baptist Church closed, Blake worked closely with First Baptist Keller to replant the church into what is now Foundation Baptist Church. He has been a leader at Foundation since before day one, and the Lord has used him mightily to help shape Foundation into what it is today.

The Lord continued to grow Blake in his faith and he felt a call to pastoral ministry. He served as one of the pastors of Foundation Baptist Church, alongside his dear friend Casey Lewis. Blake served his congregation selflessly with a hope that Foundation would be a congregation who would continually seek God’s will and strive to be a part of it.

He is survived by his loving wife Kate McKamie, his three children Addie, Annabelle, and Jude, his parents Gary and Paula McKamie, his grandmother Mary Beth McKamie, his older brother Brant McKamie, niece and nephew Kelsie and Jaxon, his younger brother Blane McKamie, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Ray and Barbara McVay, and sister-in-law Hannah McVay, as well as his two furry companions, Draco and Bella.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on December 29th, 2023 at First Baptist Keller, 225 Keller Parkway, Keller Texas 76248.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation may be made to Foundation Baptist Church, Euless Texas.

“We could and should spend the entirety of what is left of our lives meditating on God’s boundless grace, mercy, and love towards us.” Pastor Blake McKamie, May 2022
