Joyce Gwendolyn "Gwen" Sanford

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS: Joyce Gwendolyn “Gwen” Sanford was born on November 24, 1933 in Lubbock, Texas to the late Chelsea Pool Edwards and Earl Chandler Edwards. Gwen was born in Lubbock, Texas but soon moved to California where she spent most of her childhood and teen years. The family moved back to Texas after she graduated high school. Gwen married C.A. in November of 1963 and helped him run C.A.’s Restaurant for 27 years while raising their daughter.
She loved to play tennis and made many lifelong friends doing so. She also loved singing and playing the piano. Gwen was a loving and beautiful person and will be missed by many She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, C.A. Sanford; son, Tommie Gasaway and brother, Steven Edwards. She will be forever missed by those who survive her: sons, Gary Wakefield Sanford and his wife, Susie of Granbury, Paul Wayne Sanford of North Richland Hills, Robert Benton Sanford and his wife, Mo of Mesquite, Texas, daughter, Julie Jean Eichinger and her husband, Ben of North Richland Hills; sister, Norma Brown of Grapevine; 18 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M., Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Funeral will be at 11:00 A.M., Monday, August 29, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Hurst, 1801 N. Norwood Drive, Hurst, Texas 76053 with Dr. Jeff Burnett officiating. Interment will follow at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville.
