HURST -- Joyce Schultz went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012.
Memorial service: 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road in Hurst. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Eureka United Methodist Church, 8644 S. Hwy. 287, Corsicana, TX 75109.
Joyce was born on Jan. 1, 1923, in Dowagiac, Mich. Joyce was active in her church both in Niles, Mich., where she raised her family, and Hurst where she spent her retirement.
She was preceded in death in 2003 by her husband of 59 years, Walter Schultz; her son, Ronald Schultz in 1964; along with her parents Merl and Elsa Swisher; sister, Jeannette Moore; and brothers, Clifford and Dale Swisher.
Survivors: Son, David Schultz and wife, Dixie; Daughter, Karen Herrington and husband, Chuck; Grandchildren, Wendy Cross, Tammy Butz, Beth Gilbert and Alexandra Garr-Schultz; Great-Grandchildren, Bryan, Samantha, Jacob, Fred and Jason.
