Juanita was born August 7, 1924 in Maysville, Oklahoma to Georgia and R.J. Moses. She and her younger brother, Randall, had wonderful childhood memories of being raised on their family farm. Her family moved to Texas and she graduated from Sudan High School. Juanita attended and graduated from business school in Lubbock, Texas and worked for a cotton merchant. After WWII ended, she met a young marine, Arnold Parrish, whom she married on May 8, 1949. They enjoyed working and living in Lubbock but had an opportunity to purchase a grocery store in Post, Texas. It was there they owned and operated Parrish Grocery for 23 years and raised their two girls, Sue and Patti. She had many dear, lifelong friends from their time in Post and enjoyed her involvement at First Baptist Church and in the community. Arnold and Juanita moved back to Lubbock and worked for Methodist Hospital until they retired. They traveled some, then in 1993 moved to Fort Worth to be near family and enjoy their grandchildren in Fort Worth and Houston. They celebrated 66 years of marriage until Arnold’s death in Feb. 2016. Juanita loved nurturing her flower and vegetable gardens, playing games with friends and enjoyed her relationships at North Fort Worth Baptist. She was the sweetest, kindest woman even through the stages and years of Alzheimer’s. Her family expresses sincere thanks to Silverado Care and Hospice of Fort Worth.
Survivors: Daughter Sue (Bill) Gold, grandchildren Chloe, Colin, Cameron, Joey and Ben; daughter Patti (Larry) Brogdon, granddaughter Skylar (Stephen) O’Neal and great-grandson Brannon and granddaughter Landry (Jason) Griffin.
