Judy N. Schaffer of Hurst, Texas, went to her eternal home on May 26, 2023 after a protracted battle with cancer. Judy was just 3 days shy of her 79th birthday. Her wit, stamina, commitment to family, love of all animals great and small, was there even as she was leaving us. Her final days were a testament to her love and drew much respect from those of us privileged to tend to Judy as life slipped away from her.
Judy was born on May 29, 1944, in Okemah, Oklahoma, to Mildred L. and Warren L. Renshaw and was their only child. She was raised by her maternal grandparents in Castle, Oklahoma, until a teenager when she moved to Oklahoma City. She graduated from Classen High School in 1962. Her services were much in demand and she worked for numerous different companies and agencies finally retiring from the Federal Aviation Administration in 1996.
Judy’s survivors include her husband, Charles Schaffer of Hurst, Texas, daughter Lori Lynn Clark nee Fowler, and Lori’s husband Jeffrey Clark of Olympia, Washington. Judy also leaves behind granddaughters Jacqueline Clark Westberg (Kyle) Spokane, Washington, Jayceleigh Clark Hess (Tanner) Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, Jannedeigh Clark Wilson (Austin) Yelm,Washington, and grandson Jonathan Clark, Olympia, Washington. Judy loved and was also much loved by step granddaughters Elisabeth Rogers (Jerry) of Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Isabella Napier (Spencer) of Fremont, New Hampshire, and step grandson Jakeob Schaffer of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Nine great grandchildren also remain and Judy much enjoyed trying to keep up with their antics.
Judy has meant much to many and the responses have been over whelming. It is our great fortune and privilege to have known and experienced this most dynamic person.
