Judy Stewart

July 2, 1943 — January 3, 2020

Mrs. Judy Stewart peacefully transitioned to her Heavenly mansion over the hilltop on January 3, 2020, from her home, surrounded by her loving husband, three daughters, and all of her grandchildren, at the age of 76.

An adored, cherished, and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Judy was born July 2, 1943 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late H.R. and Dorothy Copeland. A life long resident of Tarrant County, Judy graduated from Carter-Riverside High School before attending Texas Christian University.

On November 17, 1962, Judy married the “love of her life,” her “high school sweetheart,” her “hero and best friend.” Her description of meeting Dewayne Stewart, her husband of 57 years, was “it was love at first sight.” They shared many wonderful years together.

The love of the Lord and family was Judy’s passion and delight. She counted it a blessing and a joy to live out her faith and serve each and every person in her family. Above all else, Judy was a dedicated wife and mother. She treasured each of her “three little girls” and embraced, unconditionally loved, supported, and prayed for them through every moment, challenge, accomplishment, and joy they experienced. Judy especially loved her role as Nana to her 5 grandchildren. Her vivacious personality was warm, tender, and contagious, providing unlimited fun, laughter, and play to all of them. Her gracious, sacrificial, and giving spirit ensured her family always felt loved.

With a servant's heart, Judy faithfully served her Lord and church family throughout her life teaching the Word and love of Jesus to children in Sunday School, the Nursery, Vacation Bible School, Children's Church, and volunteered her resources, time, and numerous spiritual gifts to further God's kingdom. Judy has been a longstanding member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in North Richland Hills, Texas. She also served her community through multiple charitable organizations and participated in various fundraising campaigns such has the American Cancer Society and American Heart Association.

Judy never met a stranger, enjoyed playing the piano and chocolate, was an avid reader and animal lover, relished her home and decorating it with her elegant taste, kept apprised and knowledgeable of current events and politics, and loved just being with her family.

Her family will remember and cherish, always and forever, her nurturing spirit, humility, unconditional and unfailing love, tender heart, outgoing personality, kindness towards and love for animals, storytelling ability, compassion, smile, and laugh.

Although she will be missed dearly, beyond what words can describe, we rejoice in her graduation and glorification in Heaven. Due to her guidance, wisdom, patience, forgiveness, persistence, and love, Judy eternally impacted and equipped the lives of her children and grandchildren by planting, growing, and nurturing their faith. What a legacy and testimony to her life, influencing each of her 3 children and 5 grandchildren to a saving faith in our Lord Jesus Christ guaranteeing we will all be together again, forever . . . soon!

Her Aunt, Ruth Keith, who was like a big sister to her, predeceased Judy in death. She leaves behind to cherish her life, memory, and love her admiring family including: husband, Dewayne Stewart of North Richland Hills; daughter, DeAnn Hubbard and her husband, Greg, of Stephenville; daughter, Stephanie Caskey Tynes and her husband, Randy, of Keller; daughter, Shannon Brown and her husband, Clay, of Colleyville; grandchildren: Atalie Wolford and her husband, Nathan, of Houston, Emily Harmon and her husband, Matthew, of Stephenville, Stewart Caskey, and his wife, Gaby, of Keller, Connor Caskey and his fiance, Madi, of Keller, and Cleighton Brown of Colleyville; great-grandchildren, Grant and James Wolford and Brock Harmon.
