Mrs Julia “Kathryn” ( Wall) Thornton of Hurst, TX passed away in Fort Worth TX on Wednesday, October 3rd, 2018 after a lengthy illness.
Service: Visitation will be held Friday, October 5th, at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst from 6pm - 8pm. Funeral service to be held at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home in Goldthwaite at a later date.
Memorials: Donations can be made to Canine Soulmates in Grapevine.
She was born at Star, TX on September 5th, 1938 to the late Fred & Maurie Wall (née Tubbs). She attended school at Star & graduated High School there in 1957. After graduating high school she moved to Fort Worth & attended the Rutherford Metropolitan School of Business & received a diploma in Business Administration. She went to work for Santa Fe Railway in 1958 as a stenographer. She continued to worked for Santa Fe for 47 years.
She married James A. Thornton of Hamilton, TX on September 9, 1961. He preceded her in death in 1984.
Survivors: She is survived by two children, Elaine Thornton of Hurst & son James Derek Thornton of Canyon & granddaughter Madison Hall of Hereford.
Her passions were travelling, playing the slot machines, and her faithful companion was her Pomeranian dog, ToTo.
