June Marilyn Snyder

March 6, 1930 — March 22, 2023

June was born to Roy H. and Myrtle (Ahrendt) Hann on March 6, 1930, in Forest Park, Illinois. She was washed in the waters of Holy Baptism at St. John Lutheran Church, Forest Park, on April 6, 1930, and confirmed her baptismal faith on April 2, 1944 also at St. John. She graduated from Proviso High School in May, 1948, and attended Knox College in Galesburg, Il. On September 1, 1951, she married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Snyder, as he was serving as a member of the U.S. Navy Band in Washington, D.C.
Their first child Renee was born while Jerry was in the Navy, and son Dean was born while Jerry was attending the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champagne. The family then moved to Orange, Texas, where June was a homemaker, watching over their family, which soon expanded to four children. Later the family moved to Victoria, Texas.
June and the whole Snyder family were faithful members of Grace Lutheran Church, Orange, and Grace Lutheran Church, Victoria. In their later years, June and Jerry moved to the DFW area, and joined Peace Lutheran Church, Hurst.
June was an avid crafter, enjoyed playing bridge, traveled the world with Jerry, and loved hosting and being with her 14 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. She was also a Licensed Vocational Nurse, and served as Church Treasurer for more than a decade.
June entered into Christ’s presence at the age of 93 on March 22, 2023, just 24 days after her husband Jerry. They were married for more than 71 years.
June is survived by the four children that she and Jerry were blessed to raise: Renee (Jeff Gibbs), Dean (Valerie), Dale (Kathy), and Donna (Lee Morrison), as well as all of their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Peace Lutheran Church, Hurst, Texas, or Grace Lutheran Church, Victoria, Texas.

Psalm 37:5
