RICHLAND HILLS -- Junior Thomas Berkely, 88, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday at Richland Hills Baptist Church, the Rev. James Hooper officiating. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst.

Memorials: Should friends desire, memorials may be made to Richland Hills Baptist Church.

J.T. was born Jan. 11, 1925, to Jeptha and Fannie Edmundson Berkley in Hamilton County. He lived in the rural Fairy community and attended Fairy High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and fought at the Battle of the Bulge where he received the Bronze Star for valor. He met and married, Kathryn , his first wife. They had one son, Philip, together and were married around 60 years. J.T. retired from Bell Helicopter.

He was a godly man and a deacon in his church for many years where he met his second wife, Mildred Teems. It was a whirlwind romance beginning in November, engaged in December and married March 11, 2007. J.T. was preceded in death by his parents, six siblings, first wife, Kathryn, son, Phillip and second wife, Mildred.

Survivors: daughter, Cheryl Cresswell and husband, Chris; grandchildren, Autumn, Kelci, Colby and wife, Christy McGinnis; great-granddaughter, Jayci McGinnis and her father, Larry Mixon; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
