With heartache and sorrow, we share the passing of Justin James Schulz. He died too soon, at the age of 39, on November 18, 2024.
Our loved son, brother, and friend, Justin was born in Dallas Texas and was raised in Anchorage, Alaska - here his adventurous nature and infectious laughter touched everyone he met. A true Alaskan at heart, Justin had a deep love for the outdoors. Whether he was fishing for king salmon in the Kenai River with his grandmother, camping with his family, or setting off on a spontaneous adventure, he found peace in all things outdoors. His passion for life was reflected in his love for nature and animals.
Justin had an incredible ability to connect with others. His presence and laughter lit up the room. You knew when Justin walked in, things were going to get a little better, a little more fun, and probably a little unpredictable. By telling a story, cracking a joke, or through his genuine curiosity for others’ lives, Justin made those around him feel joy, accepted and loved.
This ability to connect with others translated well into his career path. He eventually moved to Georgia where he continued to rise into a multi-state Marketing and Sales leadership and management position with Wyndham Vacation Resorts.
Justin recently moved back to his home state of Texas to be with family. His unexpected death grieves us greatly. Although he left this physical world too soon, his memory and spirit live on in the adventures we embark on, the animals that cross our paths, and the quiet still of the morning. We will hear him in our laughter and see him through our tears. And love him forever.
Justin leaves behind his mother, Penne Schulz, father, Jeff Schulz, sister, Samantha Schulz, and fiancé, Heather Thiebaud, his aunt and uncle, Julie and John Wohlrabe, and many loving cousins.
He is preceded in death by grandparents, Sugar and Bill Gunn, and Verna and John Schulz as well as his uncle, Mic Nelson.
