Kathryn Jo Poynor DaVault, 68, of Burleson, passed away September 16, 2020 at her home. A memorial service was held on September 20, 2020 at Lucas and Blessing Funeral Home in Burleson, Texas. A recording of the service may be viewed here:

Kathryn was born July 13, 1952 in Plano, to James and Jo Ann Freeman Poynor. She grew up in Burleson and graduated from Burleson High School in 1970. She played basketball all through school. After high school she began working for Radio Shack as a Catalog Specialist where she worked for 3 years. She also worked for Charlie Hillard Ford as a secretary. She also spent 15 years working on her family’s dairy farm in Burleson.
Kathryn married Mike DaVault in 1996, in Mansfield, TX. They were happily married for 24 years. She was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church where she played piano for several years. She enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, her family and she loved all God’s creatures. She rescued and cared for many animals over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Jo Ann Poynor and her infant daughter.
Kathryn is survived by her husband, Mike DaVault; step-children, Shauna DaVault Houk, Nathian DaVault, and Wesley DaVault and wife, Roxanne; step-grandchildren, Morgan and Corbin, Emily, Ashton, Bailey, and Roselynn; sister, Karen Lynne Fiscus of Mineral Wells; niece, Natalie Gregory; nephew, Adam Fiscus; and many other relatives.
