Kathryn Faye Dunnan
Kathryn Dunnan passed away Monday, December 21, 2020 at home with her family after a long battle with cancer. Kathryn Faye Dunnan was born November 23, 1949 in Kenmare, North Dakota to Frank and Gloria Holmes. On October 23, 1970 Kathryn was married to Richard Dunnan at First Christian Church in Midland, Texas. After her husband returned in 1971 from serving his country in the Army, they settled in on their careers and starting a family. Kathryn gave birth to their son Shawn in 1976 and their daughter Rebecca in 1978. Kathryn spent over 40 years of her working career as a RDA. The bulk of that being with Dr. Kenneth J. Kimbrough. Her time in the Dental Assistant’s chair allowed her to care for people’s teeth and become friends with more people than we could count. It was not an uncommon occurrence for her to obtain warm and friendly greetings from this person or that while she took her kiddos to the local Albertsons. Kathryn was known for her beautiful singing voice, infectious laugh, sense of humour, and her never ending love for her family and friends. She could always be counted on to be listening to the Eagles and making a plethora of food for the family. At the time of her passing she had been happily retired for many years. Kathryn was a constant source of support, love, and friendship to so many, and her time on this earth will be cherished always.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Richard E. Dunnan, her father, Frank Holmes, Sr., her mother, Gloria Holmes, her brother Frank Holmes, Jr., her sister Joann Ranguette, and her granddaughter, Norah Dunnan. She is survived by her son Shawn Dunnan, daughter-in-law Ivy Dunnan, and grandsons Tristan, Richard, and Declan; her daughter Rebecca Boneau, son-in-law Trent Boneau, grandsons Bryce and Lance, and granddaughter Manning; sister Patty Poole and family; brothers Gary and Richard Holmes; as well as many members of beloved extended family and numerous close friends.
