Kathy Ann Baird

July 8, 1946 — May 24, 2022

Kathy Ann Baird
July 8, 1946 - May 24, 2022
In loving memory of Kathy Baird, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Kathy passed away peacefully on Tuesday near her home in Southlake, Texas with her husband and four children at her side.
Kathy is preceded in death by her father, Eugene Geisler, and her mothers Kathryn and Bernadine - joining them in her heavenly home on what would have been Bernadine’s 100th birthday.
Kathy was known to all as a kind and gentle connector. She cared for all of those who were fortunate enough to cross her path; her family, her small church groups, her sit and stitch gals, her card groups, and all of her friends and neighbors. There could never be too many people at Kathy’s table, especially at her yearly Thanksgiving celebrations which gave her so much joy.
Kathy met her sweetheart and lifelong partner, Larry, while earning her nursing degree at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She lived a life in service to others, working as the head NICU nurse and retiring as the Head of Employee Health at West Allis Memorial Hospital. She did all of this while serving in her favorite role as “Mom”.
Kathy will be missed for her warm hugs, her kind words, her sympathetic ear, her shrewd card playing, her irresistible Christmas candy, her love of puzzles, her culinary expertise, her zeal for travel with her friends and family, and finally her faith, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." (2 Timothy 4:7-8)
Kathy is survived in love by her husband of nearly 54 years, Larry Baird; her four children Mark Baird (Lisa), Eric Baird (Becca), Sarah Baird (Richard), and Steven Baird (Katy); her siblings Peter Geisler (Brenda), Jan White (Jerry), Karlyn Van Gelder (Tom), Mike Ament (Mary Pat), Jan Barnes (Chuck), Rob Ament, and Lori Ann Storey (Jack). Kathy is also survived by her greatest joys in life–her grandchildren Luke, Zach, Maddie, and Bennett, along with countless nieces, nephews and cousins.
