Keith Wayne Gomez

Keith Wayne Gomez, 58, of Hurst, Tx, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022. He was born on, May 22, 1964, in Irving, Texas to Johnny Gomez Jr. and Wanda Jean Tatom. During his childhood, Keith loved fishing with his grandpa, getting into trouble with his cousins, and spending quality time with his grandma. In his teenage years, he enjoyed playing tuba as a member of the Tigers marching band and working at the local Dairy Queen perfecting his “DQ curl,” a skill he proudly passed on to his children. He also cherished his time driving his 1976 Chevy Nova around town and down to the river bottoms with friends. As an adult, Keith liked bowling, spending all day at the movie theater, and driving down the highway with windows down and radio up! Keith graduated from Irving High School in 1982 and went on to receive a degree from DeVry University in 1984. He was a dedicated employee at BancTec for 25 years. He resided in Irving for most of his life until 2009, when he relocated to Hurst to help care for his elderly grandmother.
Keith is survived by his children: Micheal Wright and wife, Ashley, Jason Wright, Amanda Gomez and wife, Kate Reed, Samantha Banks and husband, Keith; grandsons: Nathen, Mason, Zebation, Gabriel, Camden, Kaiden, Abel, and James; granddaughters: McKaylie, Jada, Aizlin, Baiyah, and Taitly; and niece Heather Brooks, who lovingly referred to him as her “Uncle KG.” He was predeceased by his father Johnny Gomez Jr., mother, Wanda Jean Gomez, Grandmother Amada Jauregui, Grandfather John Gomez, Grandmother Imogene Francis Payne, and Grandfather David Franklin Tatom.
Keith loved spending time with his family and friends playing games and having fun. Please join us for the memorial service and one last game night in his honor at 6:00 P.M., Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst, Texas. Please wear casual dress.
