Kenneth Laird

Kenneth Walker Laird, 61, of Bedford, Texas, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, January 5th, 2022.

Ken was born on April 10th, 1960 in Odessa, Texas.

He was very responsible, even at an early age, and would often work cutting grass for many within his community. During those early years his family moved around so he went to several different schools.

During his years at Oral Roberts University, in Tulsa Oklahoma, Ken loved sports and enjoyed running on his track team.

During his time with Daniel Measurement & Control in Houston, Ken met his beloved sweetheart, Laura Pape, in his current church body, Bread of Life in Houston, TX. He knew he was going to marry her the moment they met, and wedding bells rang on Dec. 7th, 1996. To their sorrow, Ken and Laura couldn’t conceive, but the Lord decided to bless them with children in a different way. After moving to the Dallas / Fort Worth area in 2001, the joy of parenthood became theirs through adopting two precious, little girls. Before adopting them, Ken & Laura prayed for a scripture to help them through the adoption process. The Lord gave them (Ephesians 2:8-9), “For by grace are you saved through faith” which became the names of their two, cherished daughters.

After moving to DFW, Ken started working within the
car industry, first with Nissan and then with Toyota. He remained with Freeman Toyota of Hurst for 16 years, and in that time, he touched the lives of many people who started out as “clients” but quickly became friends because of his exceptional work ethic and his genuine care for others. Ken was a tremendously hard worker, but his greatest passion was loving his wife and daughters, and leading them with Christ at the helm.

During his 20’s Ken lived in Denver, Colorado and fell in love with the mountains. He passed this love down to his family and they took many vacations in Colorado over the years. He loved spending time with his family, exploring new places and making beautiful, lasting memories.

Proceeding Ken in death were his parents, Mary Lou and Bill Laird Sr.

Ken is survived by his wife, Laura, his daughters Faith and Grace and his brother, Bill Laird Jr.
