Kenneth Ray Seawright, passed away peacefully in his sleep, on Friday, July 10, 2015.
Ken, was born January 24, 1930 in Bray, Oklahoma to James H. and Esta Seawright and was the youngest of 15 children. Ken graduated from Bray High School, in Bray, Oklahoma in 1947, where he was class Salutatorian. During high school, Ken played basketball and baseball. After high school, Ken was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team as a catcher. He spent one year in spring training in Lynchburg, Virginia, before he decided to return home to his sweetheart, Johna Faye Sullivan. In 1950, Ken and Johna Faye were married and celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on June 30, 2015. Ken worked for the Halliburton Company for over 42 years beginning in the warehouse in Duncan, Oklahoma and advanced to Vice President of Administration at Freightmaster, a division of Halliburton in Fort Worth, Texas when he retired. Ken was an active member of First Baptist Church in Burleson from 1969 and served as a deacon for over 45 years. He also served on the Burleson ISD school board for 8 years.
Ken demonstrated a great love for his family and friends. He was a very compassionate man and helped anyone in need. He was an avid sports fan and loved to play golf. He coached his sons little league baseball teams and was a basketball referee for over 20 years while living in Oklahoma.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Johna Faye Seawright of Grapevine, son, Keith and wife Sheri of Colleyville, son, Russell and wife Darla of Keller, grandchildren, Jonathan Seawright and wife Jenna, Madison Seawright, Micah Seawright, and Morgan Seawright, one sister, Ruth Cordonnier of Moore, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews. Ken was preceded in death by his mother, father, 4 brothers, and 9 sisters.
