Ken Swearengen (Popsi), age 87, of Fort Worth passed away on February 27, 2019 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Memorial Service 1:00 to 3:00pm Friday at Lucas Funeral Home, Keller, Texas. Inurnment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Co at a later date.
He was born August 27, 1931 in Dallas, Texas to Earl Emmett and Alda Ethel (Dugan) Swearengen. Ken worked as a mailer in the newspaper industry, where he obtained a lot of knowledge working at the Denver Post, Rocky Mountain News, the Catholic Register and even The Wall Street Journal. After he retired from the newspaper industry, he owned several bar and grills in Denver & South Dakota. Ken enjoyed playing golf and boating. He found his passion in woodworking and remodeled every home they lived in. He served in the US Marine Corps at a young age, and received a Rifle Marksmanship Award.
Ken is survived by his wife Donna (Grote) Swearengen, of 59 years; daughters Carrolyn Priest and husband Jon; Debbie Schuster and husband Bob and son; Brian Swearengen and (decreased wife Colleen) wife Bernadette. Fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Earl, Tommy, and Richard; sisters, Ruth, Roni and Sue Ann.
