Kenneth Darywn Woolsey was born May 3, 1935 to Mr. Kenneth Clinton Woolsey and Naomi Jane Spier in Clarendon Texas.
His father was a heavy equipment operator for Ivan Demmitt Heavy Construction in Amarillo Texas and so they resided in Amarillo during his high school years. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1953. He joined the Texas Highway Patrol in 1957 after completing recruit training in Austin Texas. He worked as a Texas Highway Patrolman for many years diligently protecting the citizens of Texas with great pride. He was promoted to Sergeant and subsequently to Lieutenant stationed in Midland Texas and retired in 1993. During he career he also attended and completed the Southern Police Institute in Louisville Kentucky.
He married the love of his life Ms. Cliva Jean Paschall in Tucumcari New Mexico on the 28th day of December 1953. They were married for 63 years from this day until her passing on June 20th 2017.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Mrs. Mickie Leamon. Living siblings are Mr. Jerry Don Woolsey, Mrs. Sharon Junell and Mr. Robin Woolsey.
He is survived by his two children Mrs. Teresa Kretzer and Mr. Mark Clinton Woolsey. In addition he is survived by four grandchildren Codie Kretzer and his wife Carolyn , Clinton Ross Woolsey and his wife Hanna, Jeannine Marie Woolsey and Luke Carson Woolsey. He has as well two great grandchildren Elizabeth Woolsey and Mason Woolsey.
He loved his family dearly and he was a proud member of the First Baptist Church of Roanoke for over 18 years and loved woodworking after his retirement. He was especially proud of his service to the Texas Highway Patrol and was made a Special Texas Ranger upon retirement which he took great pride in. He is loved and missed by all.
