Keri Renae Rivers

February 13, 1973 — August 2, 2023

The family of Keri Renae Rivers, aged 50 of Fort Worth, Texas, tearfully announces her passing on August 2nd, 2023. She’s gone home to be with the Lord.

Keri Renae Rivers was born February 13th, 1973 as an early Valentine’s Day present to her loving parents Mark and Marcy Rivers in Southfield, Michigan. Keri was a lover of learning, obtaining a Bachelor’s of Science in Business from the University of Phoenix in 2010, continuing with a Master’s in Healthcare from the University of Phoenix in 2013, and continuing her education as the Valedictorian of the California Nurse’s Educational Institute in 2016.

She grew up in Michigan with her sister Erin, and it was in Michigan that she fell in love with sports and music. Keri was an avid sports fan for most of her life, and in particular a fan of the Detroit Red Wings. She could tell you every Stanley Cup ever won and the entire current team roster. Keri also loved Michigan football – GO BLUE! She enjoyed watching them beat Ohio State!

Keri was a naturally fabulous singer, and she spent time singing with her mother and sister in nursing facilities where she or her mother worked. Her love of music centered around 80’s hair bands and 80’s and 90’s country music.

Keri was a talented nurse who dedicated her career to geriatric care. She formed lasting relationships with her patients. Keri’s spirit and love of life and her family helped her touch the lives of many, and she will be dearly missed.

Keri was preceded in death by her grandmother, Aileen Segerstrom in 2019.

Keri is survived by her parents, Mark and Marcy Rivers; her sister, Erin and her husband Jeff Rulon, and their children Zachary and Savannah Rulon; her aunt (god-mother) and uncle, Diane and Gary Berryman; her uncle (god-father) Ron Segerstrom and his spouse Edwin Van Egmond; her and and uncle, Cyndi and Robert; her uncle, Dean Rivers; her cousins, Gordon Goolsby, Wayne Berryman, Martin Rivers and Michael Rivers; and her fur-sister, Stella.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2 o’clock pm on Saturday, August 26th, 2023 in the chapel of Lucas Funeral Home, located in Keller, Texas. After which, Keri will return home to be interred at Riverside Cemetery in Ontonagon, Michigan.
