Kevin James Gorman

January 28, 1957 — February 13, 2018

Kevin James Gorman passed away at the age of 61, on February 13, 2018 after battling his second round of cancer. He died peacefully in his home in Colleyville, Texas with his family around him.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Julie Gorman; his children, Joseph Gorman and Cassie Mendoza (Johnny); his brother, Ken (Darlene); and sister, Maureen (Michael).

Kevin was born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 28, 1957 to Aloysius Thomas Gorman and Elizabeth Dorothy Gorman. He graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in logistics.

Kevin believed that plentiful and renewable energy will enable people to accelerate the transition to a low carbon economy, thereby building a better, more secure and sustainable world for future generations. For the past 13 years, Kevin chose to be a pioneer in the renewable fuels industry. Kevin helped found NextBT to find a revolutionary technology to convert woody biomass into a renewable and plentiful replacement for diesel, gasoline and jet fuel. Like many business owners, Kevin made many sacrifices and worked long hours to bring a concept to life and make it a reality for all. The path was never a straight one, initially he led the team that manufactured and imported the very first gallons of bio-diesel into the US. Over the next decade, Kevin was a driving force and helped the company evolve to pursue new technology to find a renewable replacement for petroleum oil. His commitment and leadership will be missed as the company continues his life's work.

Kevin was a devoted father and husband. His primary goal in life was to make sure his family was taken care of. He loved gardening, racquetball, golf, and watching football & hockey.

The funeral service will be in the Founders Chapel at White's Chapel United Methodist Church in Southlake, Texas on Friday February 23, 2018 at 1:00 pm.
