Kim Lynette (Strenke) Rhoden was born on July 25, 1964 in the front seat of a 1959 Ford Fairlane, just outside of Frederic, Wisconsin to the late Mildred Lorraine (Petersen) Strenke and Fred Ernest Strenke. She went home to her Lord and Savior on June 14, 2021 in Arlington, Texas at the age of 56 years old.
Kim attended her first years of school at the Unity School district in Balsam Lake, WI, before transferring to the Frederic school district and graduating from there in 1982.
Kim moved to Texas shortly after graduation, where she started working at the Texas Credit Union League/Member Insurance. She left work there to start her own in-home daycare and keep her daughters closer to her. When her girls were old enough, she sought work outside the home again and went to work for Santander, where she enjoyed the birth of her youngest two children and where she was still employed at up until her death.
Kim loved life. She was always smiling, no matter what was going on around her. She enjoyed her husband, children and grandchildren the most. She loved their family time and loved spending time with her animals. She also loved helping people and had a plethora of friends. Among some of Kim’s favorite things were Cheetos, crosses, angels, bibles and bible verses, the beach, the sun, the color pink, green Kool-Aid, green popsicles, watermelon, shopping, playing Jelly splash and watching scary movies (her grandkids provided a lot of her list of favorites).
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Robert “Bob” Strenke.
She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Steve Rhoden of Hurst, TX; daughters, Jessica Fortner and husband, Dustin of St. Petersburg, FL; Jaime Likness of Fort Worth, TX; and Kayla Rhoden of Hurst, TX; son, Kody Rhoden of Hurst, Texas; grandchildren, Haley Fry and Brayden Fry; brothers, Dwayne “Oscar” Strenke and wife, Mary of Luck, WI; Ardell “Odie” Strenke and wife, Shelley also of Wisconsin; sisters, Ramona “Mone” Ennis of Glenns Ferry, ID; Sylvia “Sylv” Strenke of Frederic, WI; Kathy “Kath” Briese of Rice Lake, Wisconsin; and Lois “Punk” Vrla and husband, Melton “Butch” of Santo, TX; along with numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and a host of coworkers and friends.
