Kim Taylor

May 17, 1956 — November 22, 2017

Melanie "Kim" Rogers Taylor, commonly better known as "Kim" or "Daggy," passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 while in the loving embrace of her family. She was born in Dallas, Texas on the 17th day of May in the year of 1956. All of us know Kim in a variety of roles: mother, wife, grandmother, cousin, aunt, mentor and unique friend. She was a passionate and exceptional craft worker who thoroughly enjoyed gardening, decorating and talking. In her free time, she enjoyed visiting with her friends and family but, most of all, her devoted tender-hearted husband, Mark Taylor. She had a great passion for helping and teaching others and she always had the best advice to give. This eventually led to her developing her own business in the cleaning service industry. Her sense of humor, intelligence, and love for cleanliness brought her to her own successful career alongside her cleaning service family that she thought very highly of and spoke of often.

Seven words that you could count on from Kim were: love, caring, integrity, strong, commitment, passion and fun. She was an honest, hard-working family oriented woman who did everything in her power to ensure that everyone around her was happy. She enjoyed walking, sewing, making jewelry, shopping, listening to stories, reading and showing her friends and family the best of what life has to offer. Kim truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures like chatting with friends and family, story-telling, snacking, and spending time with Mother Nature while bird-watching. Kim had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive ways and always accepted other people for who they were. She was a problem-solver who often took on difficult and unwanted projects at work and around the house. She was an ambitious and unique woman who involved herself in many activities including singing, spending time with her dogs (whom she often dressed up), listening to music, cooking, doing anything to see you smile and loving others no matter what.

Kim was preceded in death by her mother, Gloria Rogers; sister, Teresa; brother, Jimmy Rogers and brother-in-law, Billy Watts. She is survived by her husband, Mark Taylor; her father, Bill Rogers; her children, Jennifer and John Christian; grandchildren, Miranda Golden, Devin Martin, Clayton, Ashlynn and Chase Christian; and her best friend, Bobby Hammon, along with many nieces and nephews, among others, whose lives Kim touched.

Kim's family paid tribute to her with the following: "You were one of the kindest people you could ever meet, and you opened you heart and your home to many people over the years. You truly left an undeniable imprint in our memories and we find comfort in knowing that our lives have vastly been enriched by having shared our love. You will be sorely missed, and we thank you, Daggy, for your part in our lives. Now that you are gone we know that Death has nothing to do with going away. The sun and moon set but they are not gone. We are merely in different rooms and this is no more than a transference of you over from time to eternity. All the love and memories you created are still here with us and you live in the hearts of everyone you have touched, and that love will never end."
