Kimberly Kaye Petersen Siméus, age 59, of Southlake, TX passed away on May 3, 2019.
Kimberly was born on August 4, 1959 in Denison, IA to Catherine (Kay Powers) Petersen and Carlton D.H. Petersen and was raised in Schleswig, IA. She graduated from Iowa State University in Ames, IA with a B.S. in Business/Organizational Leadership.
Kimberly had a varied and rewarding career as an entrepreneur, human resources executive and non-profit leader with the common thread of helping others develop their mind, body and spirit for greater compassion, contribution and healing. She specialized in leading people development and cultural enrichment for Fortune 100 companies comprising Transamerica Real Estate Tax Service, Unilever, Pizza Hut and Frito Lay.
Her avid passion for honoring the beauty of all diversity, civil and humanity rights, alleviating poverty and advocating for social services placed her on the Boards of Directors for Beyond Borders Haiti, Sové Lavi (Saving Lives) and Chiapas International.
Kim was a Usui Reiki Master, leadership and spiritual advisor and motivational speaker. Her recent co-founding of Sacred Joy, LLC encapsulated her entire life learning and passion of all things representing consciousness, compassion, generosity, gratitude and grace.
In her leisure time, Kim enjoyed traveling, mentoring children, taking long walks with her husband, continuous learning, gardening, cooking and entertaining—all things that brought greater beauty, joy and energetic connection to others.
Kimberly is survived by her husband Dumas Siméus, Dallas (Southlake), TX; father Carlton D.H. Petersen, Schleswig, IA; brother Kurt (Tracy) Petersen and niece Alexa, Bennington, NE and nephew Taylor, Aurora CO; aunt Joleen Petersen, Omaha, NE; mother-in-law BonneFise Siméus, Hackettstown, NJ; stepdaughter Nicole (Kevin) Patterson, grandson James and grand daughter Simone, San Jose, CA; stepdaughter Nathalia (Darren) Fields, Aurora, CO; stepson Marsais Siméus, Pittsburgh, CA and many beloved extended family members and dear friends. Kimberly was preceded in death by her mother Catherine (Kay) Ann Petersen and father-in-law Mécène Siméus.
The family will host a Celebration of Life at the Hilton Southlake Town Square,
1400 Plaza Place Southlake, TX 76092 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 19. Please RSVP to Vanessa Brown at 817 296 0664 by May 15 if you are planning to attend the Celebration of Life.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 1000 Tinker Road, Colleyville, TX 76034. A graveside burial service will take place in Schleswig, IA at a later date.
