LaQuitta Talbot

February 7, 1943 — July 23, 2024

LaQuitta Talbot, 81, passed away on July 23, 2024, following a long illness. LaQuitta grew up in Midlothian, Texas. Following graduation from Midlothian High School she attended cosmetology school in Fort Worth. Her first job was in the salon in Cox’s department store on West Camp Bowie Blvd where she worked for ten years. She then managed the Queen’s Castle Coiffures salon on West Camp Bowie. During this phase of her life, she married and had a son and daughter, Bradley and Lori Brooke.

In 1973 she divorced and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where she lived for nine years. In late 1981 she returned to Midlothian to help her mother settle family affairs following the death of her father. This was when she met current husband Terry, an Air Force officer stationed in the Air Force Plant Office in General Dynamics (now Lockheed Martin). Following a whirlwind courtship, they married in August 1982.

Although she had never been associated with the military, she quickly embraced Air Force life. LaQuitta accompanied Terry at six duty locations during the remainder of Terry’s career. This allowed her to share her cooking and entertaining skills with many people across the country. During their final assignment (The Pentagon) LaQuitta began playing duplicate bridge in Arlington, Virginia. Bridge became her passion. Her exceptional memory and superior math skills led to her rapid rise through the duplicate bridge levels. She especially enjoyed going to tournaments, both national and international. LaQuitta’s outgoing personality created many close, long-lasting friendships throughout the contract bridge community.

When LaQuitta moved to Keller in 2007, she joined the Fort Western Duplicate Bridge unit in Fort Worth. Herb Fallin, her long-time bridge partner in Virginia even moved to Keller to continue their partnership. They played daily until his death in 2017. Then she and a good friend in the Fort Worth unit, Darlene Shirey, formed a long-term partnership. They continued playing daily until LaQuitta’s health began declining in 2022.

LaQuitta is survived by her husband of 41 years Terry, her son Bradley Bozeman, her daughter Lori Brooke Gossett, stepdaughter Shelly Reigh, and stepson Greg Breedlove. She has seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
