LaRea Helen Wilson, a beloved wife, mother, and dedicated nurse, passed away on September 28, 2023, in Burleson, TX. She was born on March 17, 1944, in Oakland, CA, to the loving parents Helen and William.
LaRea embarked on a fulfilling journey as a nurse, devoting 34 years of her life to caring for others. Her compassionate nature and genuine love for children led her to work with special needs individuals and support Pac Man Ministries, where she sought to provide nourishment for children. LaRea's impact extended beyond her professional life as she actively participated in the United Methodist Women's group, contributing her time and devotion to the church community. She consistently lent her support to various church events, including the Annual Conference, and proudly served as the Sunday School President.
Aside from her passion for helping others, LaRea had a myriad of interests that brought her joy and fulfillment. She had an innate talent for sewing and embroidery, creating beautiful and intricate pieces that showcased her creativity. LaRea delighted in cooking meals for church gatherings, sharing her love through the love language of food. She especially loved her dogs Riley and Savannah. Her taste in music was diverse, ranging from classical compositions to the melodies of western genres, which mirrored the richness and variety she found in life itself.
Surviving LaRea is her loving husband, Curtis M. (Mike) Wilson, whom she married on December 2, 1985. Together, they built a life defined by love, support, and unwavering devotion. LaRea's memory will be forever cherished by her son Christopher A. Rice, his partner Donna Mine, and her grandchildren Zachary Jesse Rice and Mara Elizabeth Christensen. She is also survived by her dear brother Greg Nicol and sister-in-law Kymmy Nicol.
The cherished memories of LaRea Helen Wilson will be honored and celebrated in a Funeral Service to be held on October 2, 2023, at 1:30 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Burleson.
