LaRita Griggs, resident of Burleson, Texas, formerly of Stamford, Texas, passed away on August 1, 2023, at Burleson Nursing Home & Rehab at the age of 78 years.
Rita was born February 22, 1945, in Stamford, Texas to J.W. and Charlene (Briton) Barnett where she grew up.
Rita married Johnie Griggs in 1977 in Midland, Texas and they were happily married for 44 years. She was devoted to her husband Johnie, her children, and her grandchildren with all her heart. She loved to cook, and she kept their home in immaculate condition. She loved to make ordinary things shine with a touch of glitter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.W. and Charlene Barnett and her loving husband of 44 years, Johnie Griggs.
Rita is survived by her sons; Christopher Griggs and wife, Shawna of Cleburne Texas and Wayne Griggs and wife, Michelle of Burleson Texas, her grandchildren; Trevor Griggs, Savanna Griggs, and Kinsey Griggs, great grandchildren; Anthony, Ben, Eleanor, Delilah, Harper, Edith, and other relatives. She was loved by many and missed by all.
