It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Larry Herdrick, who left us on May 16, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on May 18, 1943 in Wichita, KS to Wayne and Lillian (Larkin) Herdrick, Larry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Binh; his two siblings, Gail Herdrick Keeling and Ken Herdrick; his four children, Blake, Blair, Brandon, and Lexe; and two cherished grandchildren, Theo, and Mila.
Larry grew up in Raytown and Springfield, Missouri, where he developed a lifelong passion for hot rods and muscle cars. In his younger years, he was also an accomplished water skier and drag racer. He received his MBA and electrical engineering degree from Southwest Missouri State University in 1968. He was an executive in telecommunications for thirty years before turning to his entrepreneurial life, where he had several different successful businesses. Larry was known for his sense of humor, vitality, charisma, and was the rock of the family.
Larry had a zest for life that was evident in everything he did. He loved to travel with Binh, exploring new places and cultures. He was also passionate about his homes, in particular the most recent one in Roanoke, always finding a new project or renovation to focus on. Larry's warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
