Larry "Dean-o" Maxwell
Larry Dean Maxwell of Keller, TX passed away peacefully on March 20, 2019 at home. He will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, Paw Paw, brother-in-law, friend and "Santa" to all that knew and loved him. Larry never met a stranger. He was born on August 31, 1947 to Walter "Dub" and Velma "Biddie" Maxwell. He grew up in Keller, TX where he attended and graduated from Keller High School in 1965.
After graduating he trained to be an ASE certified mechanic and became a Master auto technician. Larry owned his own auto repair shop, German Automotive, where he specialized in Mercedes and other German vehicles. Larry was known as THE Mercedes Benz guy. The "go to" guy for any auto repair needs. It's common knowledge that "he could fix anything but a broken heart", (his pick up line that won Linda's heart).
In April of 2005, he started his "fun" job at Cabela's in Fort Worth. He started in Maintenance and after 3 years there, he was running the department. Larry was very proud of his Facilities Manager position and in 2017 won the Legendary Outfitter award, an honor given to a rare few. Larry loved to hunt, camp and fish. He hunted deer, dove, quail and Sandhill cranes- also at times raccoons, skunks and opossums. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and sitting by a fire on his deck that he built. He also loved to go fishing- specifically for Bull Reds, Redfish, and Speckled Trout in southern Louisiana; off the Gulf Coast with Captain Ross. Larry is survived by his wife of 24 years, Linda, daughters Misty Lynn Maxwell (Chris Butler) of Keller, and Shana Lea Maxwell of Fort Worth, Granddaughter Morgan Alexis Roder of Keller, and nephew Addison Maxwell of North Richland Hills. He is also survived by many cousins and family throughout the country.
Larry was fortunate to have a plethora of friends, some he had known since grade school that are too numerous to mention.
Please know he loved and adored you all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter "Dub" and Velma "Biddie" Maxwell, and brother Donnie Paul Maxwell.
