Larry Thatcher, passed away on January 28, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 74. Born on February 20, 1950, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Larry served his country with dedication. He was a graduate of Arcola High School, where he laid the foundation for his lifelong journey of learning and growth.
Larry leaves behind a loving family who will carry his memory forward. He is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda Thatcher, who was his partner in life and love. Their bond was a testament to the values of commitment and affection. Larry's legacy continues through his son, Bobby Mitchell, and his wife, Stacey, who have been a source of pride for him. His granddaughters, Mallory Gamble and her husband, Jarred; Allissa Young and her husband, Brandon; and Morgan Mitchell and her wife, Kendra, cherished their time with Larry, who always shared in their joys and accomplishments. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Liam O'Brien, Harper Young, and Easton Gamble, who brought immense joy to his life. His siblings, Sue Brown, Peggy Shoch, Adelma Porter, and Donald Thatcher, also survived him
.Larry has been preceded in death by his son, Scotty Mitchell, whose absence left a deep void in their family. He was also reunited in spirit with his siblings: brothers Gary, John, and Mike Thatcher, and sister Barbara Luckenbill, as well as his parents, John and Lillian Thatcher.
A memorial service to celebrate Larry's life will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, February 7, 2025, at Lucas Funeral Home, 1601 South Main St., Keller, Texas 76248.
Larry Thatcher's warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit will be missed dearly but will remain alive in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
