Laura Fay Herring Chasteen
Keller- Laura Fay Chasteen, 87, went to be with the Lord Monday, March 26, 2018.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm held at Lucas Funeral Home, 700 W. Wall St. Grapevine, Texas, Friday, March 30, 2018.
Visitation will be 6-8 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Interment will follow services Friday at Medlin Cemetery, Trophy Club, Texas.
Laura was born on January 22, 1931 in Cool Springs, Texas to Joseph F. and Mae Herring. Laura had unbelievable faith in God from a very early age. She was saved at the age of 12 at the Old Cool Springs Baptist Church. Laura attended and graduated from Canton High School. After graduating she met and married her soulmate, Jack Edward Chasteen, Sr. On June 3, 1948 they were married and remained steadfast in their love for 68 years. They moved to Grapevine, Texas in 1949, where Laura became a loving mother to her son, Jack, Jr. and daughters, Sheryl and Vickie.
Laura had the most amazing sense of humor that came with a dry wit like no other. She loved to laugh, entertain and cook. Loving Jack and her children was her life. She supported her husband completely in all his endeavors. Some of her most amazing traits was her love and patience. Jack could tell her the same story over and over, and she would listen attentively each time. Laura was described by her loved ones as a passionate, loving, fun, positive and classy lady. She will be deeply missed.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jack and son in law Richard.
She is survived by her son, Jack E. Chasteen Jr. and wife Lisa; daughters, Sheryl Brown and Vickie Dixon and husband Donald; grandchildren, Terry Chasteen, Candace Ingle and husband Dail and Ashley Cook and husband Cody, Taylor Brown and Kelsie Brown, plus 6 great grandchildren.
