Laura E. Delgado Vera

d. April 14, 2024

Laura Delgado was born in the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador on September 19th, 1933 to Miguel Delgado, and Rosalina Vera. She never had the opportunity to know her father as he passed away while she was yet very young. She was raised by her mother. Laura met Fernando Valero, her future husband, at a dance party in Guayaquil. They were joined in matrimony May 26, 1956, and remained faithfully married for 65 years. They raised six children together, two girls: Pilar and Stefania, and four boys: Fernando, Carlos, Ivan, and Hector.

Laura studied accounting and started working at a very early age to support her mother Rosalina and sister Lolita. She worked for many years for the telephone company in Guayaquil. She was always a very responsible employee and loved to share Jesus with her coworkers. She gifted hundreds of bibles to many people.

Laura was an excellent and loving mother and wife. She loved her husband Fernando very much and missed him terribly after he passed. She was a wonderful example to her children, and she motivated them to learn, to be kind to others, and to follow Jesus. Laura was an incredible prayer warrior in constant contact with her Savior Jesus Christ.

Laura moved to the United States more than 18 years ago where she became a citizen. She lived in the cities of Colleyville, Grapevine, and Euless, where she passed away on April 14, 2024. She was 90 years old.

Laura will be remembered for showing kindness to others in many different ways, her tenacity and strength in seeking a better future for her family no matter the sacrifice, her work ethics, her love to travel the world, her curiosity for current events, her role as an encourager to her husband and to others, but especially her unconditional love for her family and her faithfulness to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister. She is survived by her six children, seventeen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
