Lawrence Francis Thoreson

Lawrence Francis Thoreson, 73, of Fort Worth, TX proceeded to eternal life on August 19. 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Marshall, TX on March 20 1948. Larry graduated from Escondido High School, Class of '66, and received a Bachelor's of Arts Degree from University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). Larry married Rose Marie Tedesco on November 25, 1967 with whom he raised a family for 53+ years.



Larry proudly and honorably served the US Army and the Escondido Police Department as well as shaped the minds of many students as a science and religious education teacher. Larry was most noted for his service to the Catholic Church through his involvement in many ministries including Eucharistic Minister, Evangelization, Confirmation Preparation, the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) and Knights of Columbus.



He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Vivian Thoreson and his brother, Jack. He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie; their son Scott with children Johnathan, Christopher and Daniel; daughter Pamela and son-in-law Brian Jones with children Allison, Matthew, and Madelynn; daughter Patricia Johnston with children Melanie, Luke, Logan, and Mark; son Donald and daughter-in-law Isabel with children Adrian and Sofia; His siblings Robert, James, Donna Ostrander, Mary Simmons, Glenn and Paul and over 60 nieces, nephews and cousins.
