Leah Marie Howell, 33, was called to heaven Friday, June 29th in Bedford, Texas. She was born April 16, 1985, in Fort Worth, Texas, to parents Richard T. and Donna M. Howell. Leah was born with a genetic defect known as Trisomy 13, which left her blind, partially deaf, and mentally challenged. With all this going against her, Leah took on the world in her own special way. A great amount of praise must be given to the HEB school district, which provided so much support in the education of Leah, who graduated from Trinity High School in 2007. Her teachers and caregivers along the way were very amazing people who helped Leah learn the best way she could to adapt. Leah loved birthday cake and noisy toys. She loved loud music and hugs from everyone. This sweet little child who had so much going against her was seldom seen without a smile on her face. Leah provided an inspiration to everyone who knew her and showed us that love is what really matters and that we shouldn’t sweat the small stuff. Leah will be greatly missed by all who knew her, especially her loving family.
Leah is survived by her parents, Richard and Donna Howell of Bedford, a brother and sister-in-law Richard Howell II and Melissa Muenzler of Keller, and a niece and nephew Harper and Henry Howell of Keller. She is also survived by her maternal grandmother, Eunice Zorumski of Bedford
