Leland “Paul” Wartchow, 79, of Hurst, TX passed away on March 9th following an unexpected medical emergency.
Paul was born and raised in Union City, OK. He met and later married the love of his life, Judy (Zajic) Wartchow at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and School in El Reno, OK. After moving to Hurst, TX in 1969, Judy and Paul built a family, raising their three children, Eric, Keri, and Josh, in a happy, loving home. An eternal optimist, there was nothing he enjoyed more than entertaining those around him with master storytelling and a seemingly endless supply of jokes. His acceptance of everyone combined with his desire to help others translated into a long and successful sales career and business owner. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten by his family members and friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Gladys Wartchow, and his brother, “Clinton” Wartchow. He is survived by his wife, Judy, his sisters Elaine Albers (Union City, OK) and Teresa Villarreal (Wichita Falls, TX), his children Eric (Castle Rock, CO), Keri Cook (North Bend, WA) and Josh (Watauga, TX), and his grandchildren Connor Wartchow, Alex Miller, Chase Miller, and Ashton Cook.
His memorial celebration is 2:00PM March 13th at Lucas Funeral Home (1321 Precinct Line Rd, Hurst, TX 76053). In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Sacred Heart Catholic School in El Reno, OK would be appreciated (
