HURST - Lena Jo Gunter, age 84, passed away peacefully on Monday September 2, 2019 in Bedford, Tx, surrounded by her family.
Lena Jo Scritchfield-Gunter was born in Damascus, AR to James F. and Euna (Loyd) Scritchfield on July 28, 1935. She married the love of her life, Lawrence Wesley Gunter on June 28,1954 in Ft. Worth, Tx. She was a loving and caring person to everyone she met.
Mom always bragged about being a teacher’s aide when we were young, loved teaching Bible Class, had a passion for sewing, cooking, making sure everyone had plenty to eat, spending time with her family & grandkids, watching fireworks, Elvis & Shirley Temple movies and the birds.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Wesley, her parents and 2 brothers.
SURVIVORS: Lena Jo is survived by her sons John Gunter and wife Kristi, James Gunter and wife Carol; daughter Karen Peaden, and husband Jeff; grandchildren Jorden Gunter and Scott Peaden, great-grandchildren Connor and Izabella Gunter. Sister Judy Huckeba, 5 sister in-laws Wanda, Shirley, Janice, Faye & Brenda and spouses, and many other extended family and friends.
