Lena Rose Smith

Lena Rose Smith passed away at her home in North Richland Hills on May 24th, 2019.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: A memorial service will be held at Legacy Church of Christ 8801 Mid-Cities Blvd, North Richland Hills, Texas 76182 on Thursday, May 30th at 11 am.
Lena was born March 19th, 1941 in Bonham, Texas. She married John ‘Lanny’ Smith Jr on January 26th, 1963. Lena retired after many years of teaching at Birdville ISD. She was a wonderful seamstress, cake decorator, cardsharp, and Trivial Pursuit player. Lena was preceded in death by her parents Theo and Opal Carpenter; husband John; brother Phillip Carpenter; and son John ‘Jay’ Landrum Smith III.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by her daughter, Laura; dog, Comet; cat, Blackie; brother-in-law, Tom; sisters-in-law, Joyanne and Janice; nephews, Scott, John, and Terry Guy; nieces, Valerie, Jennifer, and Gena; and great nephews, great nieces, and cousins.
